Browser Compatibility
The majority of people accessing this site when it started in 2006 were using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 on the Windows operating system. There has been a significant change in browser use since then due to a very marked increase in the use of Mozilla Firefox (now averaging between 30% - 35% of all users) and to a lesser extent Opera (approximately 2%). Many people prefer the ease of use (not to say the independence of Microsoft) by using these free open-source browsers. If you do not currently use these two browsers, you can download them by clicking on the links below.
Internet Explorer was finally updated to version 7 in November 2006, and it appears that the majority of IE users now have this version as part of the Microsoft automatic updating process. Previously Safari has only been available on the Mac operating system, but in its third version it is now also available for Windows users.
It is the policy of this website to be compatible with all Internet browsers on all operating systems, as far as is possible without compromising the content quality. To this end, work was undertaken in early 2007 to transfer the site coding to XHTML 1.0 in accordance with W3C standards and you can check how successful this has been by clicking on the W3C logos below! This website has been tested on the Windows, Linux (Ubuntu) & Mac operating systems, using the following browsers; Firefox 3, Opera 9, Internet Explorer 7, Safari 3 and Konqueror 3.
