Anglesea Arms, St Mary Cray

There has been a public house of some sots for over 200 years at 1 Kent Road, St Mary Cray. In the 1930s Reffell’s Bexley Brewery built a new public house immediately behind the earlier one which was kept open until the one was ready, when it was then demolished. This was the same technique as was previously used at The Woodman Blackfen. The architects used were again Delgliesh & Pullen.

The Anglesea Arms was closed and in 2009 planning permission was granted to convert it into a chemist shop and dental practice, although it still looks like a pub!
